“The deceased’s father found him hanging from a tree at an undeveloped plot next to their home at Botshabelo ward and immediately notified the police,” he said.

The top cop further disclosed that no suicide note was found, nor did the man give any indication he was contemplating killing himself.

“The family is still in shock. He did not leave any message. Nobody knows why he took such a drastic decision,” said the police boss, adding this was the third reported case of suicide in his jurisdiction since the start of the year.

“All three suicides involved middle-aged men in their 30s,” noted a concerned Kebodiretswe.

He urged the public to seek counselling whenever they feel overwhelmed by their emotions, stressing that suicide is never the solution.

“We have social welfare officers who are more than willing to assist us. People should not be ashamed to seek help when they need it,” concluded Kebodiretswe.
