Bana bana ba Ntogwa drop the third album

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED: Bana Bana Ba Ntogwa

The group popularly known for their energetic dance moves on stage recorded the six-track album at Dawn Studios in Bulawayo in January this year.

Dzo Dusa follows Ntogwa Thobela, which was released in 2009, and Mamazala in 2014.

“We were scheduled to release the album in April after a five-year hiatus but now we have decided what our fans appetite with a track per month starting from June until the whole album drops in November. The circumstances however might change as the Covid-19 restrictions relax, we will see,” said Diamond.

The manager also spoke of how the outbreak of the coronavirus disturbed the group’s plans to release the album in style.

“We wanted to have a listening session with all media houses and invite Francistown city leadership. We also wanted to have a massive album launch with the support of our friends in show business but that couldn’t be done because of COVID -19,” he said.

The other challenge, Diamond explained, had to do with lack of enough funds for recording locally.

“Service Empire (PTY LTD) has to come to our rescue by sponsoring both our recording and travelling expenses. The manager also helped us financially although the company that sponsored us is his.

“We had to travel to Zimbabwe more than twice and we still have to go there again. We also had a problem finding guitarists, so we ended up with fewer than we had wanted for a live recording,” Diamond lamented.

He also highlighted that competition in the music industry was fierce hence the group’s decision to drop a hot album in order to secure a top spot on the music charts.
