“I DID NOT RAPE HER, I WAS TOO BIG TO PENETRATE” – SUSPECT
Giving testimony during a rape case trial held at Maun Magistrate court on Monday, a 32-year-old independent witness made a shocking revelation that at the crime scene the suspected rapist had confessed that he had failed to penetrate his then 16-year-old victim because his manhood was too big to fit into her and he had instead resorted to using his fingers.
According to the 32-year-old Lame Phaladi who works as a Security officer, the police found him at his duty post a few metres from the alleged scene of crime and asked him to accompany them to witness the accused, Baleseng Bundu’s demonstration of what transpired on that day.
“Baleseng took us to a Bushy area by the river where he tried to rape the girl, he told us he had failed to penetrate the victim because he could not fit and he used his fingers and left her there,” testified Phaladi.
It is alleged that the then 26-year-old Baleseng pounced on an unsuspecting Maun senior secondary school student on the 29th of June 2019 at around half past seven in the evening and dragged her to the nearby bush and molested her.
The third prosecution witness was the arresting officer, Constable Neo Mokobe who revealed that on the day of the incident they had mounted a roadblock by Ngami Toyota when they were confronted by three school girls.
“One of the girls was crying. They told us she had just been raped and gave us a description of the suspect as a man wearing camouflage pants and a black jacket” explained Mokobe.
Mokobe went on to testify that him and his colleagues then got into two vehicles and rushed in the direction where the said man was and apprehended him.
After being warned and cautioned of the offence of rape, Baleseng is said to have maintained his innocence indicating that he did not rape the girl as his manhood had failed to penetrate.
Trial has been set for October, 29 for Continuation.
