” I hope its a minor misunderstanding”- Tsogwane

Member of Parliament for Tonota, Pono Moathodi, has taken his frustrations about the speaker Phandu Skelemani to the Vice President, Slumber Tsogwane.

Of recent, Moathodi has been complaining that Skelemani, and his Deputy, Mabuse Pule of Kgatleng East Constituency have been ill-treating him during parliamentary proceedings.

Moathodi complained that since defecting from Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) to Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), the Speaker and his deputy’s behaviour towards him have changed for the negative.

He complained that the two men don’t respect him anymore as they often ignore him when he raises hi hand to contribute to debates.

“It is true I have escalated the matter to the Leader of the House who is also the Vice President to intervene because I cannot allow that kind of treatment to go on like that,” he said before explaining that he made the complaint on Monday and hoped it would be resolved urgently.

CRYING FOUL: Moathodi

Meanwhile Tsogwane confirmed having received the complaint from Moathodi but was yet to meet the other concerned parties.

“I will meet the Speaker and his deputy then listen to both stories before we could make a decision. I hope it was just a minor misunderstanding,” Tsogwane said.
