‘First Things First’ hits the airwaves to demystify medical aid
Botswana Medical Aid Society (Bomaid) has re-launched the radio initiative titled “First Things First,” airing every Wednesday at 12:30 PM on RB2.
This weekly segment serves as a dynamic platform for educating and engaging customers on Bomaid’s products, services, and value-added offerings, placing customer empowerment at the heart of healthcare.
Two episodes in, First Things First forms part of Bomaid’s broader, robust stakeholder engagement efforts that have been consistently rolled out since the beginning of the year, building on the momentum of the successful 2024 engagement activities.
The segment speaks directly to Bomaid’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and being a true partner in every customer’s health and wellness journey.
The debut episode featured Chief Customer Experience Officer (CCXO) Segolame Macheng and Corporate Communications Manager Tshepo Happy Maphanyane, who introduced the initiative and spoke to the Fund’s continued focus on demystifying healthcare cover.
The second episode took a deep dive into Access Healthcare, Bomaid’s entry-level cover plan, and was led by Tshepo Happy Maphanyane and Marketing Coordinator Refilwe Motlhagodi.
The discussion explained the plan’s benefits, outlined enrollment options, and responded to common queries received from the public.
“It is important to meet our customers where they are, in the spaces they already occupy and trust. The ‘First Things First’ segment is an opportunity for us to break down complexity, clarify our offerings, and ensure that customers feel supported in every decision they make,” Maphanyane said.
“This radio segment is not just a broadcast; it is a bridge. It connects us with our customers and stakeholders and helps us build trust and understanding around our value as a healthcare partner,” added Macheng.
Listeners can expect upcoming episodes to explore topics such as navigating the diverse product offering, which includes 16 health plans; processes such as the claims process; utilising wellness benefits, and the role of preventative healthcare.
Subject matter experts from across Bomaid will also join the show to share insights and answer questions posed across our platforms.
The radio show is part of a wider ecosystem of touchpoints through which Bomaid customers can access services and support, including:
- A revamped, user-friendly website: www.bomaid.co.bw
