Wanted robbery suspect arrested in South Africa

Police have confirmed the arrest of notorious armed robbery suspect Adolphius Mogakolodi Legae.

The 23-year-old Legae who has been evading the police for weeks now was arrested yesterday (Sunday) in South Africa’s North West Province.

Police recently launched a nationwide manhunt for Legae who is suspected to have illegally crossed into South Africa as his travel documents are said to be in the custody of Botswana Police.

He was on top of the police ‘wanted’ list for a number of offences which include armed robbery, multiple rape cases and one reported case of hijacking.

Legae’s latest alleged crime was the infamous Tsolamosese Choppies Store robbery where he, in the company of another, made away with P112 000.00.

The two men allegedly made away in a vehicle they had hijacked at gun point from a Ramotswa taxi man who was shot three times on the thigh during the hijack incident.

Classified as dangerous, Legae is believed to have also abducted a young woman in Kanye, who he later shot on the leg.

Confirming Legae’s arrest, Police spokesperson Witness Bosija said that the suspect was still being held in South Africa pending completion of extradition process.
