Mahalapye East legislator, Botlogile Tshireletso has, Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) Members of Parliament for what she said is jealousy and pettiness towards Alliance for Progressives leader, Ndaba Gaolathe.
Tshireletso told parliament this week that, so bent in jealousy are the MPs that they took offence when Ndaba recently attended Isaac David’s funeral, Mochudi East MP who was murdered last month.
“That’s why when Ndaba attended the funeral of the former MP, they accused him of being a Democrat (MoDomkrag) because they do not understand that we are all in government, we are all Members of Parliament regardless of our individual parties. Sir, we are grateful that you attended the burial, that you were there with us,” Tshireletso ridiculed the opposition.
She added: “Just because he was among those who carried the casket, to them that made him a member of Domkrag.”
Tshireletso who declared her admiration for Ndaba further suggested that the MPs’ jealousy was worsened by the fact that he did not take part in helping the leader of opposition draft the response to this year’s budget speech, as he had done last year when he was still part of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).
“They are jealous of Ndaba, but I will always love him. When you attack him, I will defend him even though he belongs to the opposition. But to tell the truth, his absence (from UDC) is felt, it has created problems.”
Tshireletso made the remarks when responding to Opposition request for the “government,” to involve Parliament when reviewing major important services including the old age pension scheme which at that time was being debated and finally recommended for review.
