AFCON QUALIFIERS
It is do or die this coming weekend for a lot of African teams still hoping to qualify for AFCON 2012 in Guinea and Gabon.

The way teams are going to qualify is not as tricky as people think. The thing is there are certain countries that are at an advantage. South Africa, Nigeria and the likes of Ghana look certain to qualify either as second best and or top of the group depending on how the games will go this coming weekend.

We can’t start complaining and worrying about how CAF will select the second best groups, the rules are there and as for Botswana we can’t worry because we are top of our group.

SA BASED GUYS
We are in camp as I write this column and all the South African based players are not here. I know that some of them like Modiri Marumo, Phenyo Mongala and Mogogi Gabonamong picked up minor injuries.

I am not sure about all the other guys, maybe the coach just wanted them to be with their teams because it looks like we don’t have a friendly game this FIFA week. I am however of the opinion that FIFA dates must be utilised fully by countries.

COACHING COURSE

COACHES: Nare,Mpote,Saulos,Motang

There are local coaches doing a very top coaching course here AT Lekidi Football Centre.

It is good to have so many local coaches doing such a high profile coaching course. Actually all coaches need refresher courses. I am happy to see that even the national team coach, Stan is here. We have watched some of their sessions and they look really interesting. With some of my former mentors here I think we are up for a very tough league because surely they will implement some of the knowledge back at their respective clubs.
THE REDS CHALLENGE

This weekend we are taking on Gaborone United and we will be up against our former goalkeeper, Noah Maposa.

The thing is we will not be playing him as an individual but rather United as a team. Personally it will be my first encounter against them since joining Chiefs.  This game can’t be treated like the league decider of three seasons ago where United beat Chiefs. That one was like a woman giving birth where you don’t know what kind of a child will be born but this weekend it is just a first round game.

SATMOS CAN SURVIVE
We had a tough interesting encounter against Satmos. They don’t have the experience but they are a good side.

I think somewhere along the way they will beat one or two teams, they are capable of an upset. They have good players that is why they managed to frustrate us last week. They also just need to do better in front of goal.
