BOSASNet would like to thank the community for their ongoing support during their financialcrisis but continue to appeal to the public for support and donations that may help re-establish much needed substance abuse rehabilitation services in Botswana.

We have received a number of messages from the public who wished to share their stories.

In substance abuse rehabilitation, we don’t care about statistics or numbers on a piece of paper, what matters to us is that the quality of life continues to improve for individuals, their families and communities.

“BOSASNet helped us a lot in line with its purpose.

We relocated in Gaborone seeking help and got it. Due to alcohol and drug abuses, our son was on and off in hospital at least six times admissions last year.

When he enrolled into your unit, he was guided and reduced his admissions to two this year which is very encouraging.

He could show responsibilities by shopping alone, visiting friends alone and doing home duties alone.

Please continue you are a remedy to the nation.” – Mother of BOSASNet Client, Anonymous “I have really benefi ted from the services provided by BOSASNET.

BOSASNET has made me take notice of my drinking habits and therefore manage how much I drink.

It has provided a foundation on which I can now fight the abuse. I must say it is an uphill battle but I am getting better by the day.

I have actually managed to take some breaks from alcohol with the longest being 2 months.

I plan on taking some breaks now and then and gain enough confidence to actually quit.

” – Current BOSASNet Client “My BOSASNet counsellor was my lifeline.

I attended sessions twice weekly in the beginning and it was the only place where I did not have to hide the truth, defend my spouse or feel embarrassed about my situation.

I got to talk about openly about my own feelings; I learned to manage my anxiety and to understand addiction.

I also learned it is possible to have a life without guilt, anxiety and suspicions.

My BOSASNet counsellor gave me tools for the future, which I now apply to all areas of my life.”
