Three teenagers are in police custody for questioning in connection with the death of a 16 year old boy from Block II in Francistown.
According to Kutlwano Police Station Commander, Neo Serumola, the incident happened on Monday evening.
Serumola said they received a report around 20:30 from Nyangabwe about a patient brought in by parents. “When we arrived, we found a lifeless body of a 16-year-old boy. The deceased was an out of school youth who completed his form three last year,” said Serumola.
The Station Commander said they arrested three 18-year olds, all residing in Block 7 in Francistown.
One of the suspects is a student at Mater Spei College. He said from their preliminary investigations it appears there was a fist fight between the deceased and the three teenagers.
“A neighbour who witnessed the fight notified the deceased’s father who immediately rushed his son to the hospital,” said Serumola.
He further said the trio is yet to appear in court. “It is still too early to establish what really happened. We may have to wait for an autopsy as the deceased had no visible injuries,” Serumola said.
