Tafic Marketing Manager Tebogo Toteng says the club’s fund raising dinner at the Adansonia Hotel, Francistown was a success.
Speaking to Voice Sport in a post dinner interview Toteng said the event had helped sell Tafic’s new image and raise some much needed cash as well.
“The dinner was a success as we achieved our financial goals and marketed the Tafic brand we are building. We want investors in the team and for that we need to adhere to corporate rules. We are working towards building a Tafic that has accountability. We want a Tafic in which investors and sponsors can have confidence in”, the man tasked with marketing Matjimenyanga Boys as they plot their way back to the elite league said.
Tafic spent last season in the first division and Tebogo says the team needs support from the Francistown business community if the club is to be back in the top league next season as they have planned.
Toteng went on to express gratitude to those who offered financial help to Tafic at the dinner.
“We raised P27 000.00 in pledges from business houses and individuals and we are grateful for that. We need all the money we can get to see us through the season. With more such support we can achieve our goal of going back to the premier league” he said.
On another note Toteng intimated to Voice Sport that they were pleased with the political support they are getting as besides several councillors and MPs Buti Billy and Ignatius Moswaane attend and spoke at the event pledging their support to the Tafic cause.
According to Toteng MP Wynter Mmolotsi who could not attend the event because he was at BMD’s Good Hope/ Mabutsane parliamentary hopeful’s launch has also offered his full support.
“MP Billy has promised to lead a fund raising walk to help the club raise money. We call on other civic leaders to follow his example and helps us get back to the premier” Toteng told Voice Sport.
Quizzed on the team’s preparations ahead of the new season Toteng responded; “We are doing our best to have the players motivated in the new season”
