Botswana Democratic Party Secretary General Mpho Balopi has condemned the behaviour of some suspended former members of the Youth Executive Committee.
Without mentioning any names, Balopi said it was important for the concerned members to show remorse when the party takes action against them.
He said it is a principle that members should not wash the party’s dirty linen in public. “But some went to the media and said all sorts of things,” he said.
When dismissing some of the suspended NYEC members’ claim that they were not accorded a proper hearing, Balopi said the suspended members should know that it’s their democratic right to seek recourse from available party structures.
“They can appeal the decision and they will be listened to,” he said.
The BDP second Youth Council and Policy Forum continues today in Bobonong.
