A Village Magistrate’s court this week granted bail to three men and one woman suspected to be dealing in illegal drugs.

Boipelo Maoto 33, Onkabetse Thamagana 29, Bachengedzi Molefhi 26 and Edward Thamagana 24 were allegedly found in possession of habit forming drugs on the 1st of February at Tlokweng border post.

It is alleged the accused were found in possession of seven sachets of substances suspected to be Methcathinone and cocaine weighing 500g.

Allegations are that Molefhi who is an immigration officer provided transport to the border where the alleged drug lord Thamagana was meeting his mule, Maoto.

The two were accompanied by Edward who is a soldier at Thebephatshwa Air Base.

Magistrate Ike Raphael granted the accused bail on conditions that they pay P1000 cash and provide two sureties who would bind themselves with the same amount.

He further ordered them not to commit any similar offence while on bail and that they should report to Sir Seretse Khama Police after every two weeks.

The four will appear again in court on the 12th of April.
