Gaone is a true style star, a natural hair goddess who loves and appreciates her natural Motswana figure.

Her style is inspired by royalty and a touch of vintage. Her hair, which is her crowning glory, whether its box braids, kinky hairdos always stands out and brings out the inner ‘diva’.

We just love how her style compliments her personality.

Vintage inspiration: I love how women dressed up in the 50s. Every woman appeared to be curvy and they looked really beautiful.

Of cause I can’t prance around in such a dress on stage but whenever I’m given a chance to choose what to wear I think of those.

I love outfits that accentuate my curves at the same time being conservative as I appreciate being comfortable in everything I step out of my house in.

My style Icon is: I love the way Nhlanhla (of Mafikizolo) dresses. She takes my breath away every time I see her.

But also, whoever puts together Nandi (Shaka Zulu’s mother)’s victory outfit won me over.

Her command and effortless authority as she walked from the entrance to her long awaited and suffered for throne is what I aim for no matter what stylist or designer I work with.

It is one very odd yet very crucial aspect that contributes to who I am as an artist and how I want to feel when I step out in style.

The Best thing in my wardrobe is: My black leather leggings. Never gone wrong with those.

My Scent… Haven’t yet decided on a fragrance to stick with but for now I’m torn between Hugo boss and Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent.

Favourite local designer(s)… would be Gilded Sands, Botocy and Sir Tony Couture
