With just a little over a week left before local heavy metal Band Skinflint leaves for their maiden one month tour of the United States, the group has planned a farewell gig at WonderPark (former Eros) in Tlokweng this Saturday.
Skinflint will leave for the USA on 12th February where they will play alongside
American band Soulfly, groove metal band Incite of Built to destroy fame and Canadian award winning death metal band Kataklysm.
Skinflint Manager Ivo Sbrana has urged metal heads to come in large numbers to see off what by far is one of the best local rock bands.
“They will be out of the country for a month and this a great opportunity for their fans to have a glimpse of what the group will showcase in America,” Sbrana said.
“The group will be back in the country on 3rd March,” he said.
Since its formation in 2006, Skinflint has continued to win over global audiences with their unique Afro-inspired heavy metal.
They have attracted the attention of international media and since signing under World Wide Agency Metal Music Bookings in 2016, they have been getting international bookings.
They recently released their seventh album whose first single ‘Birds and milk, Bloody milk’ was well received by their loyal fans.
The song fuses metal and kwasa kwasa, something that has never been done.
Other songs from the new album that revelers could hear in Tlokweng include ‘Tokoloshe’, ‘Eyes in a leopard’s spots’ and old hits such as Iron pierced King, Iklwa and Okove.
