Six people died, with eight of them hospitalized, on Sunday afternoon when a combi they were travelling in had a tyre burst and lost control between Bobonong and Gobojango village.
Six are hospitalized at Bobonong hospital while two are at Nyangabgwe hospital.
Officer Commanding for No. 15 District, Bonosi Molapisi, confirmed the horrific accident and noted that the driver was treated and discharged on the same day with minor injuries.
“The combi was transporting people from Semolale to Gobojango and Bobonong and it had fifteen people in it. The deceased are people aged between 5 and 64-years,” revealed Molapisi.
He added that among the six who lost their lives there were three men and three women.
The tragic accident follows another road mishap that claimed the lives of five football players who had been traveling from Gumare to Sehithwa.
The police chief urged motorists to always exercise caution on the roads as too many lives are being lost due to reckless driving.
