A 26-year-old Shakawe man is fighting for his life at Mahalapye hospital after he was attacked by an elephant on Saturday.
Shakawe police Station Commander, Goitsemodimo Molapisi, confirmed the incident and said the man was coming from the bars at Ngarange village in the night when he came across the elephant at Sekandoko ward.
“It appears he was attacked that night as he was found in the morning at around 9am,” Molapisi said and added that the victim was immediately rushed to Satau clinic where he was referred to Gumare hospital then Mahalapye hospital where he is recuperating.
“It was a horrific sight as the man’s body was badly disfigured,” Molapisi said.
