Two women working for one of the security companies in Francistown were attacked and sexually assaulted by an unknown man on Saturday night.
Francistown Central Police Station Commander, Lebalang Maniki, confirmed the incident and said the women who are in their 40s were on duty at one of the buildings in the town centre.
“The report reached our office in the morning of Sartuday and the incident was said to have occurred at around midnight,” he said.
The culprit, according to Maniki, is said to have attacked the two women with stones and tied their hands with a rope before raping them.
After raping his victims, the culprit is said to have robbed them of their cellphones and fled the scene.
Maniki has appealed to members of the public to help with any information that may lead to the arrest of the culprit.
He also called on security companies to always pair their female guards with male colleagues for their safety.
