The country will be kissed by roses come March 10 when English singer songwriter Seal marks his debut on Botswana soil with a live performance at the University of Botswana (UB) arena.
According to Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO), the event was organised to celebrate 10 remarkable years of sustainable and diverse tourism.
The show happens just two week before another internationally acclaimed artist, Billy Ocean is scheduled to perform at the annual Hamptons Jazz festival.
Seal – born Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel 55 years ago – has sold over 20 million records worldwide and will perform at BTO’s event dubbed ‘Of basket and song’.
The music extravaganza will also feature South African singer Lira, three-time Yarona FM Award (YAMA) winner ATI, Mophato Ensemble, Samantha Mogwe, Shanti Lo and Dr Vom amongst others.
Seal is currently in the middle of a world tour, where he visited places including the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland. His tour, dubbed ‘Seal The Standards Tour’ featured all of the former The Voice Australia judge’s hits as well as some of the singles from his latest album, ‘Standards’.
Of his most recent album Seal says, “It was a true honor to collaborate with some of the same musicians who performed with Frank Sinatra and so many of my favorite artists, in the very same studio where the magic was made.”
Tickets for the March show are currently on sale for P300 and P750.
