Robbery and serial rape suspect, Oscar Venald Chabaya’s troubles are far from over after Extension II Magistrate, Ntombizodwa Ncube ordered that his bail be revoked.

The 29-year-old Chabaya from Harare, Zimbabwe, is facing seven counts, four of rape and three robberies which happened in Tlokweng.

The accused also has a pending case in which he was found in possession of illegal drugs and alleged to have committed rape and robbery while on bail.

Chabaya is also said to be having a grievous bodily harm case before Central Police Station and he is to appear before court on the 29th of June to face the charge.

The court heard that the accused person raped some victims and robbed them of their property amounting to P10 990. He allegedly used violence to obtain the property.

Public Prosecutor, Joseph Kehakae, told court that investigations are continuing and that they have not finished registering witnesses’ statements. He said they have not yet recovered the stolen property.

Kehakae also said the accused was a flight risk as he is an illegal immigrant.

Magistrate Ncube ordered the prosecution to bring Chabaya’s previous case of drugs so that his bail could be revoked.

The accused was further remanded in custody.
