HAPPY: Noel Van Der Berg

The country’s leading paint coating company, Kansai Plascon Limited, launched its latest products at Tlotlo Hotel and Conference Centre in Gaborone last week.

The company have maintained a presence in Botswana since 1984, where they have strived to live up to their mandate of making people’s lives better.

Synonymous with quality and long lasting durability, Plascon’s interior flagship paints come with a 15-year guarantee while their exterior flagship paints are guaranteed to last for 12 years.

Speaking at the unveiling of the new products, Plascon International Business General Manager, Noel Van Der Berg revealed that his company were embracing the digital age and the opportunities it provides.

“We have launched Plascon’s Visualiser Pro App for tablets and smartphones. One simply selects a colour from the existing photo and the App will find the closest match from its selection of more than 1, 400 Plascon shades,” he explained excitedly.

In an exclusive interview with The Voice, Van Der Berg stressed that although Plascon faces stiff competition from similar enterprises, they will not compromise on quality by manufacturing cheap paints.

At the launch, Plascon proudly unveiled its new high-quality mining enamel topcoats, which have been specifically designed for the mining industry.

The range includes interior paints, for decorative and protective finishes and exterior coats, for mild and galvanised steel as well as timber and masonry.

The lead-free, quick drying topcoats are available in 5 litres, and come in a range of colours, including white, black, medium yellow, signal red and brilliant green.

During the well-attended event, Plascon also introduced two new additions: Plascon Hysheen, which is a fast drying, road marking paint and Cold Cure – a high-performance, lead-free coating, which is visible at night and an excelle reflector.

The company also unveiled its new logo, which is symbolic with its desire to ‘pursue excellence’ and to improve customers’ lives.

On the eastern side, in acquisition with the Sadolin Group, Kansai Plascon has become the number one coatings company in East Africa.
