The music industry continues to grow in leaps and bounds, and local artists have shown over and over again that they are ready for the international stage.
Listening to Thandie Monageng’s songs one can’t help but appreciate the talent that the musician has. Going by the stage name Phoenix, the Tlokweng born artist has chosen Pop rock and Electro dance.
She possesses unique lyrical and vocal talent executed with an exquisite technique; making her diverse.
Her fusion of rock rhythm and electro dance feed is also furnished with unmistakable swag.
There is no denying that the young musician has liberal freedom of creativity which adds substance and authenticity to her music.
“My mission statement is to compose versatile and creative music that offers therapeutic outcome that will positively contribute to universal human development,” she said.
In her quest to see the urban culture growing further, lively Phoenix said she intends to establish collaborations with local and international artists in order to exchange artistic ideas.
“It really comes down to keeping people inspired, motivated and happy while passing socially essential messages,” she said.
Phoenix’s debut album is titled E.R (The Euphonious Rise) and it is scheduled to be released locally in August 2011 and an international release is scheduled for mid 2011 in South Africa and other African countries.
She already has four radio singles; Dance (electro-dance), In yo face (punk/pop rock), Everything (house) and is also featured on the hip hop track Swagger Jacker.
The ambitious artist sees herself solidifying her position and expanding to a colossal music artist in the global entertainment arena.
“The objective is to set trends standards of international youth urban culture by offering new dimension of musical artistry and other elements like language, fashion and way of thinking,” Phoenix says.
Phoenix, the brand is pioneered by a joint venture of Makama Emperial Pride (MEP) an entertainment company registered locally and HIT Philosophy; a record label owned by Khunou Holdings (Pty)Ltd an international investment consortium registered in South Africa.
The joint venture aims to take the Phoenix brand to every household throughout Africa and the rest of the world with advanced business engagements which include clothing and other merchandise.
