Murder accused haunted by victims
REMANDED: Keodiretse Tlhofaetsi

Double murder accused, Keodiretse Tlhofaetsi has asked Village Magistrate, Raphael Ike to grant him bail claiming he is haunted by the people he killed.

Tlhofaetsi, 19, said he is having nightmares and hardly sleeps at Moshupa Boys Prison where he is currently remanded. He is accused of killing a man in Mmopane in September 2016 and was given bail.

The accused allegedly raped and murdered Karabo Edith Letshoo at Ledumadumane on January 27th this year while on bail. His bail was revoked.

‘Kindly reinstate my bail. I struggle to sleep in prison at least if I can be released my parents would take care of me. I have changed and become a born again Christian. I will never kill a person again,’ he said.

The Magistrate however asked him if he wanted to be granted bail again and continue killing people and he said he had learnt a hard lesson and will never commit murder again.

“We are concerned by an alarming rate of murder offences committed particularly by young people,” Magistrate Ike said before he further remanded Tlhofaetsi in jail.
