2017 is shaping up to be quite a year for 24-year-old local singer Motswaferé who released his debut music video single titled ‘Pleasure’ at Cresta President Hotel last week Thursday.
The cocktail themed premiere aimed at previewing the music video to an elite guest list.
Produced by Motswaferé Sithole and Tshepo Lesole, the music video was shot at Maemo’s farm near Rasesa.
The event attracted an impressive array of high-profile musicians – including performers of the calibre of Samantha Mogwe and Mpho Sebina – who turned up to show their support and mingled freely with upcoming artists.
Motswaferé spoke at the premiere, where he explained the process of the music video and the meaning behind the visuals.
“‘Pleasure’ is a love song, showing that love is limitless and that you can love whom you choose – it gives you a pleasure that you can’t deny,” he told the crowd, adding that the song tells a story about a new relationship.
“The song ‘Pleasure’ is a love inspired track, looking at the first stages of a relationship where you always want it to be a fairytale because your boyfriend gives you so much pleasure.”
The single, which is now available for purchase on iTunes, played for the first time on Flava Dome on Friday night and is expected to air on radio this week.
The song marks Motswaferé’s second studio single following his Afro-jazz song titled ‘Parralé’, which received regular airplay on numerous radio stations, including in neighbouring South Africa.
The artist is currently working on releasing an album and told Voice Entertainment confidently, “We are going to see more music videos and good music.”
