IT AIN’T ME YO!

The Holy Trinity

Remember when we were young, and the screaming mother would come wondering who broke the cup? “It’s not me.” Who stole the condensed milk? “It’s not me”. Even when you were forced to open wide your mouth, stick out the tongue and the notorious sweet and sticky Nespray was stuck at the ceiling of your month, “it’s not me” was the answer. So it’s not me. I am not responsible.
Yes, I do write the truth about Christ Jesus and the love of God in our lives, but it aint me yo! You know Brethren, there are times I wish I could claim all the glory, and then I remember, it really is not me.
All that I do is because of God, and for the glory of God. Of course, only good coz the bad is the result of my disobedient nature fueled by the stupid evil animal that invades my space time and again.
So, Bazalwana, here it is; I am what I am because of the blood of the lamb, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I do what I do because of the grace of God. And I live the way I do through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. To say anything to the contrary would just be a slip down the slope. What am I on about? I am on a journey of the truth, and the truth is God is in charge, and all is to the Glory of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
You see, when a child of God approaches me and tells me just how much the writings on My Quest have changed her for the better, or came in just at that right moment, I am tempted to say “thank you, that’s why I write what I write.”
I say I am tempted, but I need to know and share the truth. And that truth is that all that you see is God’s plan, not mine. I cannot afford to claim the glory “He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.” so reads Revelations 14 verse 7.
So, it is not mere mutterings when I say to you my sister, my brother, this is God’s space. It is the Word of God living through these humble messages, and only He allows them to go out and reach
those that He wants to reach. I cannot, and will never claim to know why I write what I write here. In fact, if I were to bow to temptation to receive and bask in the glory, I risk the wrath of God.

Glory Be To God

IT can be dangerous child of God. Remember what he told the disobedient and pride-filled children of Israel in Jeremiah 13 verse 16? “Give glory to the LORD your God before he brings the darkness, before your feet stumble on the darkening hills. You hope for light, but he will turn it to thick darkness and change it to deep gloom.”
In fact, not honouring God for his goodness is not only dangerous to us, but to all. The very next verse of this reading warns that; “But if you do not listen, I will weep in secret because of your pride; my eyes will weep bitterly, overflowing with tears, because the LORD’s fl ock will be taken captive.” Now, you know child of God that at this point, God was angry with the children of Israel, and he was using a warning that the pride would bring nothing but the fall. The fall, God tells Jeremiah in verse 18, would start at the top.
“Say to the king and to the queen mother, ‘Come down from your thrones, for your glorious crowns will fall from your heads’.” I read this scripture in totality, as with many others in the Old Testament when God’s wrath was unleashed on the chosen nation of Israel, and I realize two elements stick out – sin and pride. God hates pride, for a proud heart is sinful. Sadly, these elements tend to easily sneak in and settle nicely in our midst, so much that we can even justify sin.
So please Bazalwana I beg of you, avoid issuing and proclaiming glory for the work of God. Understand me child of God; I do appreciate encouragement time and again. In fact, I have found that the “your writing changed my life” usually comes at the moment I am down and need that lift. But I ask, don’t thank me thank the Lord. When the spoken and written message or that Gospel song touches and heals you, remember that God meant it to be.
It is not the person who is delivering the message, or praying for you, who is doing the healing. No, the servant of God is just doing what he or she was sent to do. This servant is just a vessel carrying God’s food – the Word of God.
The servant is not the provider, but the server. So, I ask of you child of God, tempt not the servants with words that will plant the seed of pride, lest you be part of their fall.
