Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana (HATAB) will, starting today until Sunday hosts its Annual General Meeting and Festivity Conference previously known as the Closing Season.
In this year’s conference, the CEO, Lily Rakorong promises HATAB members and all the relevant stakeholders, presentations and deliberations that are relevant to their organization and the growth and development of the industry in Botswana.
The conference themed “Tourism: a Vital Force for Development; a Service to be Released” also provides a good opportunity for business and professional networking.
In a statement the organization said, Managing Director of Debswana Diamond Company, Jim Gowans is expected to be the guest speaker while the Minister of Environment, Wildlife & Tourism, Tshekedi Khama will also grace the occasion.
The presence of several Ministers and dignitaries has been confirmed.
“The last two years have seen HATAB engaging foreign diplomats and this year it will not be different. Decision makers, both large and small business entities are also coming in large numbers to brace this beneficial event,’’ reads the statement.
Meanwhile, Rakorong said that as a non-profit making entity, HATAB wishes to extend a very warm thank you to all their sponsors and supporters of the event. She said that Tourism plays a major role in the economy of Botswana; therefore investing in their programme can benefit all.
