All star music fest set for April
Boasting a star studded line up of the finest local Gospel artists, Christian Events Marketing and Communication is scheduled to host the first ever ‘Gospel All Stars Music Festival’.
The event will take place on 7th of April at Baobab School, with doors opening at 3pm.
The loaded line up is expected to feature, amongst others: Phempheretlhe, Tshepo Lesole, Joel Keitumele (Ntsoro), Matthews Matsetse, Suggie, Franklyn, Matheke Leteane, Gloria Dwizikiti, Ounah and Pastor Wolf.
One of the concert’s organisers, Oaitse Segobai explained that the intention is to bring together the country’s finest Gospel artists.
He stressed the show’s uniqueness, pointing out it will be the first time in Botswana’s history that the crème de la crème of Gospel, both past and present, will come together under one roof.
Segobai further told Voice Entertainment that the event will come in two phases, with the first show in Gaborone and the second – containing the same line up – happening towards the end of the year in the northern part of the country at a venue yet to be confirmed.
“Truth is there is a lot of talent when it comes to local Gospel groups. The problem we have seen is that people only support those that they worship with, hence why you do not see a lot of Gospel shows around the country,” revealed a visibly excited Segobai.
Meanwhile a few days after the gospel music show, local TV personality turned Pastor Joel Keitumele (Ntsoro) will host his inaugural Gospel awards ceremony.
The event, dubbed Annual Gospel Awards (AGA awards), will be hosted at the Boipuso Hall on April 28.
According to their official social media page, it will include up to 14 categories.
