‘Goromente’s’ bail hearing reserved for tomorrow

An Extension II magistrates court is expected to make a ruling on forgery suspect, Mariba Zweshe’s bail application tomorrow (Thursday).

Zweshe, 37, who has notoriously earned the nickname ‘Goromente’ for the numerous offences which include alleged forgery of government documents such as birth certificate, marriage certificate, driver’s licenses, bank documents and many others appeared in court today (Wednesday) seeking bail.

Magistrate Batho Kgerethwa postponed the matter to Thursday as she said she needed to have a look at the accused’s disputed passport first. “Please make sure you bring that passport today. I need it for the ruling tomorrow,” she told State prosecutors this morning.

Zweshe who is charged with faking and forging official government documents was nabbed by the Police last year in Tlokweng.
