Broadhurst police are on the hunt for a Zimbabwean man, Nkosinathi Ndlovu, who allegedly killed his girlfriend on Christmas eve at Ruretse and left a note for the girl’s mother.
Superintendent Bonosi Molapise confirmed the incident but said the suspect was still on the run. “We’re still pursuing the matter and the suspect is still at large. We wish to appeal to members of the public to provide any information that may lead to his arrest,” he said.
The deceased’s mother who was in Francistown at the time is said to have received a call from Ndlovu informing her that he killed her daughter, Neo Mondiya, following a misunderstanding.
She then reported the matter to Francistown police who then alerted Broadhurst police.
Mondiya’s half naked body was found on Christmas day in Ndlovu’s employer’s house who at the time was on holiday in South Africa.
Next to the body the police found a note which read in part: “I am sorry for what happened because I killed my girlfriend, she was lying to me all the time but anyway I killed myself on the river next to the the bridge…”
Mondiya’s body was taken to Princess Marina Hospital but Ndlovu was nowhere to be found.
