Accused delivered by TB Joshua in 2014
Allegations of drug peddling, forgery and uttering of false documents are flying thick and fast in a murder case that has shocked Francistown residents.
Flamboyant business man, Bongani Solomon, has been remanded in custody as police are racing against time to solve the mysterious death of Special Constable Daniel Mooketsi (26).
Botswana Police Service Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Dipheko Motube, confirmed Solomon’s remand in an interview on Wednesday afternoon.
“There have been no further developments since the arrest of Solomon. This is the only suspect we currently have who we hope will help us resolve this,” said Motube.
Despite Motube’s update on the matter, The Voice has been reliably informed that two more suspects have been detained.
“One suspect is a taxi driver and the other is a notorious criminal who was part of the infamous Central Medical Stores robbery,” The Voice has been told.
Solomon is a charismatic businessman who runs Bongani Hair Salon and Bonjour Pawn Shop in Francistown.
The fashion suave Solomon was described by many as a shy God fearing businessman.
On his Facebook page, Solomon has a post of himself giving an anointing oil testimony on Emmanuel.tv.
He later commented on the post with a promise to visit the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).
While the police are mum on what could have led to the gruesome murder of one of their own, a source close to the proceedings told The Voice that the accused is a man with multiple characters.
The source said he does not know how the deceased fits into the equation of a man suspected to be dealing in more than hair beauty and pawned items.
He said Mooketsi who was the Director of Neo-Life Diamete International may have crossed the wrong people and paid with his life.
“From what I heard he had pawned his lap top but failed to pay for it before deadline. It is not yet clear how a simple laptop transaction could end up with one man dead and the other facing murder charges. There’s more to this issue,” he said.
The suspect was arrested after police found text messages between himself and the deceased.
“The text messages led the police to the salon owner,” he said.
The Voice attempted to talk to the deceased’s family to no avail.
The deceased’s sister said they were still in shock and are still waiting for the police to provide answers.
Mooketsi was found by his girlfriend and mother of his 18 month daughter hanging from the rafters with his hands tied behind him and mouth sealed with a green tape.
According to the police, he had a police shirt tied around his waist with a bold message ‘F**K YOU WITNESS’.
Another message reading “WE WANTED YOUR DAD KID. GOOD THAT YOU ARE SLEEPING” was left next to the deceased’s 18 month old baby who was sleeping in the house.
He will be buried in Francistown on Saturday.
