The annual Gaborone African Food Festival (GAFF) will be held on December 17 at Bojanala Waterfront, Gaborone with delicious African dishes on offer.
The family fun day will give the attendees an opportunity to see, taste and experience a wide variety of organic and authentic various cuisines from the four regions which include South African Development Community (SADC), East Africa, West Africa and North Africa.
Three professional chefs with vast experience in preparing traditional and exotic dishes including Chef Thulani Moyo from Botswana and two others from Zimbabwe and Ghana have been engaged to provide the perfect meals for the event.
GAFF representative, Harriet Nkonjera, said the aim of the festival is to express love to one another through food and music.
She also mentioned that they will have alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on sale including ‘mageu’ and ‘gemere’ prepared by the chefs.
The attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy mekoro rides where adults will pay P60 00 for a round trip ride and children P30 00.
There will also be a 5-A-side soccer match played between radio personalities and musicians.
“We urge you to come and embark on a classic excursion of delicious discovery, voyaging through the diversity of African food culture, come and join us celebrate Africa’s togetherness united by organic African food,” Nkonjera said proudly.
Entertainment will be provided by Sulu from Zimbabwe, Chomza from South Africa and local artists Drama Boi and Doc Tawanda who is expected to officially launch his single track “Be with Us, Ivai nesu”.
BTV Flavor Dome show presenters Leungo and Sadi will be the festival MCs.
