Magistrate Wame Mosugelo of Broadhurst Court further remanded four women accused of murder.
Court heard that on the 3rd of June Kelebogile Lenake 23, Pauline Masuge 23, Tuduetso Mogopodi 23 and Lesego Kgatlwane 26 allegedly attacked and killed a man who accused them of stealing his wallet at a bar in Gabane.
It is alleged that the suspects and the deceased had a quarrel outside the bar over his missing wallet.
The victim then followed them as they walked away and they hit him with a blunt object beside the ear and he collapsed and fainted. He was rushed to the hospital where he was certified dead.
State Prosecutor Inspector Tsogo Rantopa pleaded with court to further remand the accused in custody as the matter was fresh and police were still investigating.
He said they are still waiting for the postmortem results to find the cause of death.
“Investigations are ongoing and we are still looking for possible witnesses. The matter happened two weeks back and the investigating officers are waiting for the postmortem. We need more time to do our investigations,” said Rantopa
When asked if they had anything to say three of the accused women had nothing to say while Kgatlwane asked for bail. The four will appear for mention on June 28th.
