Fashion Without Borders is back

After its successful debut in 2015, Fashion without Borders (FWB) Designers Road Show returns to Gaborone this year under theme, “Trends of the decades: Celebrating 50 years of Unity and Pride through Fashion”.

The show whose exclusive media partner is The Voice, a publication with vibrant fashion pages, is a celebration of the fashion and lifestyle industry over the past 50 years.

“We are once again calling on young Batswana models and designers who are looking to get experience and recognition within the industry to make their way to our auditions. FWB is all about providing opportunity for the less fortunate to grow get exposure and turn their talent into a business. We have already seen growth since the first FWB in Botswana with seven models and local designers making their way to South Africa to participate on an international level”, said FWB Organiser, Serge Kabisoso.

In celebration of Botswana’s 50th Independence, the 2016 Show will feature 50 models.

A total of 18 designers (10 Botswana, 4 SA, 1 Namibia, 1 Zambia, 1, Zimbabwe, 1 DRC) will this year get the opportunity to showcase their collection on a world stage.

“We are very excited about our return to Botswana and we look forward to an even bigger show in 2016. FWB continues to promote the fashion industry in Botswana, with us having assisted the winner of the 2015 Presidential Award, Emmanuel Kayenda to acquire a modelling contact with Boss Models in SA. We encourage Batswana to attend the audition processes in order to stand a chance to be a part of this year’s event”, concluded Kabisoso.

Models casting auditions will be held next Saturday at Stanbic Bank Piazza (Molapo Crossing) and the Designers Auditions will take place on March 13 at the same venue.
