Award winning local artist and Minister of the Gospel, Kabelo Eric is back in the studio putting the finishing touches on his fourth album.
In an exclusive interview with Voice Entertainment, the ‘Golgotha’ hit-maker revealed the new album, which will be completed in a few weeks, will unleash his new personality.
“I’ll be revealing my versatility in composition, rhythm and taste,” he said, adding that he will still maintain the style that his fans fell in love with in 2007.
“I’m doing an inversion of Fusion and Afro-soul but still keeping the traditional gospel flair,” continued Eric, who recently returned home after a three-month Bible Course in England.
The popular singer has been in the music industry for over 11 years, making a name for himself both locally and internationally.
After his 2016 collaboration with the late South African gospel sensation Lundi, many of his fans expected Eric to follow it up with an album release.
“I was still working on other projects related to my music. These include my book to be published first on Amazon,” he explained.
His past three albums ‘Jutase wa moskariota’ (2007), ‘Oh Modimo!’ (2010) and ‘His Worship (2014) have enjoyed massive airplay on national broadcasters.
In 2011 he won his first international accolade, bagging the Best Religious Song (A e Phetehe thato Yao) in the Museke Online Africa Music Awards in the United States of America.
Eric beat the likes of Benjamin Dube (South Africa), Sonnie Badu (Ghana), Daddy Owen (Kenya) and Uche (Joyous Celebration – South Africa)).
In the same year he was nominated for Best Gospel Male Artist in the Africa Gospel Awards (UK London).
This got him recognition regionally which saw him being nominated for KORA Awards 2015.
“I was also appointed Botswana KORA Ambassador for #FightEbolaChallenge,” added Eric.
