Engen’s ‘Win a tractor’ competition returns

AT THE LAUNCH: Engen officials

Engen Botswana this week launched the sixth edition of their popular Farmers Dream ‘Win a tractor’ competition in Gaborone.

The competition requires customers to fuel their cars with a minimum of P250 or spend P100 in the quick shop or purchase lubricants worth the same amount.

This promotion has been running for the past 6 years and Engen has so far given away a total of 22 tractors, 22 ploughs, 22 disk harrows and 22 planters.

Two years ago they gave away a 20 acre farm with borehole and farming implements.

This year’s competition is expected to end in August and Engen Managing Director, Chimweta Monga, told the media that they decided to discontinue the previous ‘Win a farm’ competition due to the catalyst to the economic well being of Botswana.

He said the ‘Win a tractor’ competition is meant to improve food security and income generation hence advancing the government Policy of Citizens Economic Empowerment.
“This year we are giving away 4 Massey Ferguson tractors, 4 ploughs, 4 disk harrows and 4 planters. We will also have weekly give-aways like fuel vouchers and the draw will be done live on radio and every month we will give away a tractor and its implements. The competition will run until end of August this year,” said Monga

He said employees of Engen and their immediate families will not be eligible to participate in this competition.
