A Special Constable accused of conspiring with her two brothers to kill their father was yesterday (Friday) granted bail by a Francistown Magistrates Court.
For now, 27-year-old Happy James is a free woman after Magistrate Kaveri Kapeko released her on bail.
However, Happy’s siblings and her two co-accused, Meshack James, 32, and Kabelo James, 29 were both remanded in custody
The trio have been charged with the murder of their 70-year-old father, Thomas James, who died from injuries he allegedly sustained after being hit with an iron rod on April 20 at Kulenyane ward at Matshelagabedi village.
When granting the murder suspect bail, Kapeko said,
“You are to sign with P1, 000 and bring two sureties who are to bind themselves with P1, 000 each. You are not to interfere with the police investigations and report to Matshelagabedi police station every last working day of the month.”
Happy was also told that she does not have to appear for any more mentions, unless instructed to.
Her two brothers will next appear in court on May 29th.
