Yours Truly could not help but wonder what the queen of sands Maxy Sedumedi is up to with her weight. When she released her gospel album ‘Ee ke dumetse’ she once hinted that she was weight loss mission and I have to believe she looked different.
However watching her perform during the Gaborone regional tournament I was shocked to realise that the
Makorakoretsa hit maker has ballooned out of shape again.
However, a couple of ladies I have talked with say weight gain is imminent after during and after pregnancy. They say it differs from person to person.
But Shaya still would love to see the trimmed down MmaGauta.
PARENTHOOD FOR MEGA V
Former radio and television personality Miso Mmereki is expecting. Miso who left her former employers Duma FM under a cloud was spotted at Yvnonne Chaka-Chaka’s press conference at Botswana Craft donning maternity wear.
The voltage charged Mmereki seems to have moved on from her life on radio to print media. Mega V, as she is popularly known, is now working for the newly revamped Mirror newspaper. Shaya would like to congratulate her and anticipating an equally voltage charged little baby.
GUNS OUT FOR DARGIE
Robert Dargie would never know rest if some of the leading figures in music circles could have it their way. A little birdie has whispered to Yours Truly that a couple of local producers have ganged up on the celebrated producer and want him out of the country.
Rumour is that some local producers blame Dargie for the current sorry state of local music.
“They say he is the reason local musicians are not making any money because he floods the market with half baked material and he never gives an album enough time before he releases another one,” Shaya learnt.
The source further claimed that the current court cases bedevilling the producer are the work of this gang of producers who want Dargie out.
The situation is said to be so bad that the anti-Dargie clique is willing to dig out dirt about him and have him arrested.
ZEUS GOES TO COURT
A long-standing feud between rapper Zeus (Game Bantsi) and organisers of the Back-to-School event has now reached boiling point as the two have decided to go the legal way.
Zeus has confirmed that a trial date has been set for early November.
“I don’t want to say much about that, but I can confirm that it is on, a trial date has been set for early November, but anything can happen between now and then,” he told Shaya.
The award winning rapper said he feels the organisers prefer that the issue be resolved by a court of law.
According to the gripe vine, there is a certain trusted accountant who apparently accepted a P10, 000 upfront payment to steer the hornets’ nest on the previous management at a certain ailing radio station. He was promised a huge share of the bounty. It is said that it all began last April 2009 when the man with a company that is named after a certain pet detective movie suggested to this accountant (who left a certain ‘blue’ bank under a cloud) to suggest to the owners that the old man’s management at the time was not capable of doing the job. Shaya has been informed that this highly trusted accountant started discrediting the said management that had set up the station with his bosses and after several months an interesting suggestion was put forward that there was a gentleman who could help resuscitate a well functioning radio station. Then all hell broke loose. Stay tuned Shaya will dig more next week.
