Q. If you could be any age for a week, what age would that be?
A. I would be 105 years. I am curious about how I would look!
Q. What question do you hate to answer?
A. “Why are you still in Botswana?” Sometimes I get why people ask it but most times it confuses me because its like, “OMG we love how you sound so much just go away and sound good somewhere else!”
I suppose it’s something that could happen but I love home and I would miss my baby brothers’ faces too much!
Q. If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A. Sticky chicken wings and green salad and if I have the option of it coming with dessert it would include my mother-in-law’s pineapple cheese cake.
Q. When did your career start and who are the biggest artists you have worked with?
A. Professionally I started singing in 2007 and the biggest artists who have featured on one of my tracks are DRAMABOI and KayCee.
Some pretty big artists whose tracks I have been featured on include Orakle, DJ Ski, T.H.A.B.O., Third Mind, Kast, Mapetla – believe me, I am pained that there are not many women on this list!
Q. What is your routine like weekly?
A. My ‘weekend’ is basically Tuesday and Wednesday so that’s when I try get in some relaxation.
Otherwise on the daily I am up at 6:30am to get the kids ready for school.
When they leave, I will either take a nap, try finish off a novel or catch up on my favourite shows.
Then, if I am so inspired, I will learn a new song to add to the 390 plus swilling around in my head.
Recently I am trying to write my own as well.
Then I’ll get in another nap in the afternoon till I have to get ready around 3pm for work.
Usually at 10 pm, that’s when I knock off.
It’s all pretty tame, so I’m thinking of adding some jogging or a dance club!
Q. Name one artist you wish to sing with and why?
A. International artist Rouge, I just love her vibe.
Locally, SCAR because he has always been a favourite of mine.
Q. What’s the one memory you will never forget in your life?
A. My uncle scolding me for just sitting in the driver’s seat but the car was parked with no keys – a week later I crashed the car into the garage wall!
Q. What cheers you up?
A. Any routine by Katt Williams will cheer me up and comedy usually helps to calm me down, especially when I am nervous or anxious.
Q. Five things people don’t know about you?
- Shopping is my least favourite thing to do.
- I love people, that’s why I love giving hugs. I feel like nothing says, ‘I see you’ more to another person than touch.
- I don’t like breakfast, I feel like I’m being punished if I’m forced to sit for a meal before noon.
- I like to DIY. Everything, I’m pretty good with my hands, I bake pro cakes, I can hold my own with a jigsaw, drill, sewing machine – name a tool, I’ve most likely used it!
- I love phane, the smell of it, the taste of it – but I haven’t eaten it in over 15 years.
