Adolf Mogorosi who was allegedly caught breaking into a car at Airport Junction Shopping Mall was this week granted bail by Village Court Magistrate, Ike Raphael.
30-year-old Mogorosi of Broadhurst is facing two counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and stealing from a motor vehicle.
It is alleged that on February 1st, the accused with the intent to steal and without the consent of the owner broke into a car belonging to Karabo Modibedi.
On the second account Mogorosi is suspected to have stolen Modibedi’s Sony Xperia cellphone worth P4 800.
Mogorosi is suspected to have used an imobiliser to tamper with the victim’s car locking system.
The owner of the car said she was shocked to find Mogorosi sitting in her car and before she could get him out the thief panicked and drove away but the police managed to arrest him.
State Prosecutor Mashumba told court that the suspect was a part of a car breaking syndicate.
He said he has other cases of theft before Sir Seretse Khama Airport Police Station and they are still looking for his partners in crime.
Magistrate Raphael granted Mogorosi bail on conditions that he pays P1000 cash and provide two sureties who will bind themselves with the same amount.
He is to report to SSKA police every Friday, attend court on set dates and not to commit similar offence while on bail.
His next court appearance is scheduled for April 12th.
