Connect Cycle will host the first Africa Youth Entrepreneurs Summit (AYES) next week Thursday in Gaborone at Travel Lodge.
The one day event will be held under the theme, ‘Fostering Wealth Growth in Africa Through Young Entrepreneurs Partnership.”
Panelists will be young entrepreneurs from Botswana, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, DRC, Kenya, Malawi and Tanzania.
Speaking to Voice Money AYES organiser, Lemogang Senwelo said she decided to partner with young business people from other countries so that it can be easy for locals to export their products and services.
The youth are also to share ideas, opportunities of growth and come up with solutions for the challenges they face in business.
“I have brought young entrepreneurs from different countries under one roof to learn how to expand our businesses. I always attend business conferences across Africa and I met these panelists. It is very difficult to start business and it is a long process to get funding. We are going to select 15 entrepreneurs, fund them, provide office space and mentor them for a year. In the next summit they will be sharing their success stories,” Senwelo said.
The morning session discussions will focus on employment creation and how to start and manage a business while the afternoon agenda will comprise of issues of finance, funding, psychology behind business and delegate interaction.
Tickets are sold at P500 standard, P2000 for five people, P4000 for 10 people and P700 for VIP.
