The matter in which the trio of Otsile Moses, Boago Mosarwane and Chidzani Mokwebe from Francistown West constituency are facing assault charges was postponed to Thursday this morning at the Francistown Magistrate Court.
The trio who are on an indefinite suspension from the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) are on trial for allegedly assaulting BDP activist Otto Masogo during the party’s March congress in Francistown last year.
The accused who are known supporters of Francistown West Member of Parliament, Ignatius Moswaane, allegedly beat up Masogo during the charged up elective congress at Donga Junior Secondary School where tables and chairs were smashed.
They were initially slapped with a 60 day suspension pending hearing.
The suspension was made indefinite after the trio’s no show at the disciplinary hearing.
Instead they had sent a letter from their attorney indicating that their hearing should be suspended pending the outcome of their assault case.
