Flames Basketball Club of Francistown will this weekend host a tournament for local and Zimbabwean teams at BDF Donga Basketball Courts in Francistown.

Proceeds from the event dubbed “Basketball Cares” will go towards helping an unnamed underprivileged family in Coloured Location, Francistown which was recommended to the Flames by local authorities.

According to the Project Manager Tebogo Ndlovu, the tournament will besides local clubs feature clubs from Lakers Foundation, Mavericks and Xtreme from Zimbabwe.

At the time of going to press local clubs Police Ladies, UB Relics, Botho Raven, Troopers, Police Men and Dolphin had confirmed participation.

BDF, Jwaneng Bullets, Drillers and Warriors were still to confirm whether or not they would take part in the charitable event.

According to Ndlovu the tournament is sponsored by Flames Chairperson Chenamani Nkobodo and Gallo Shopping Mall who last weekend provided the venue for exhibition matches.

The prize money for both the male and females team is P2000 winner takes all.

Entrance is free.
